Everalls DFK History

The firm began from humble beginnings in 1968 as an accountancy practice known as Rolfe Hall & Everall located in Fyshwick.

The practice quickly grew and developed into one of the most reputable and prominent CPA practices in Canberra. In early 1980, the firm had expanded to such an extent that they needed to move to larger premises and so the move was made to Manuka Arcade in Manuka. The move certainly increased the profile of the practice and provided much better working conditions for the partners and team members.

The Firm’s Growth and Diversity
In November 1983, the firm expanded once again by purchasing a small practice at Kambah Village Shopping Centre. Also in July 1993, the firm setup Southern Business Services (Marketing) Pty Limited (SBS) as the Business Development and Training Division of the firm known then as Everall Merrett & Mann. In August 2001 the company also helped establish and grow Everalls IT Pty Ltd (insitec) to help small Canberra firms with IT support services. In July 2004 the firm also acquired the well known CBD practice of Triggs and Sankey to help build its base of small business and superannuation clients.

A New Home
After 15 years of having 2 offices, it was decided in early 1998 to amalgamate the offices at Manuka and Kambah and we moved into the Royal Life Saving House building in Deakin. These modern offices in a central location in Canberra helped bring together all the resources of the firm into one location, so as to provide better facilities for our staff and a better level of services to our clients.

New Management and Identity
In July, 1999, Robert Shelton, who had been our Tax Manager for 5 years, was invited to join the practice as a partner. Rob is now the Managing Director of Everalls DFK. In July 2003 the founding partner of the firm, John Everall retired as a Director of the firm and Ros Henschke, Melissa Healy and Mark Hardy joined Robert Shelton and John Mann as Directors. This changing of the guard also heralded the change of our name to Everalls DFK Pty Ltd.

In January 2008, Robert Shelton took over the reigns of Managing Director of Everalls DFK from John Mann. John Mann retired from the firm in February 2009 after providing many years support to our clients, the firm and the community.
